Being a teenager isn’t easy in the world we live in, with strong views, peer pressure and stress attacking many young people from many directions.
We are committed to championing the rights and well-being of young individuals as they navigate the challenges of adolescence. Through our tailored services, we strive to provide a supportive and inclusive environment, in schools, where teenagers can develop essential life skills, cultivate healthy relationships, and embrace their unique identities.
Within our Youth Advocacy programme, we offer dedicated support for teenage girls within school settings. Recognising the challenges facing girls, particularly those who have arrived in the UK more recently, our programme aims to provide a confidential and safe space where girls can express themselves one-to-one, as well as in peer support groups.
We walk beside each girl in the programme as she navigates this transformative phase of her life with confidence and dignity. Our goal is to equip girls with the knowledge and resilience needed to thrive through the complexities of adolescence whilst embedded in patriarchal systems. With time and space, they foster a sense of self-assurance and pride in their identities.
Similarly, teenage boys are referred to Hopscotch’s programme in schools, where they can safely explore positive masculinity. Within a society full of toxicity, our work is about listening and helping boys to cultivate healthy attitudes and behaviours – towards each other and girls.
We work closely with the boys and the school to co-create each programme, with a focus on supporting boys to embrace qualities such as empathy, respect, and emotional intelligence. By challenging traditional stereotypes and fostering open dialogue, we aim to create a culture of inclusivity and respect where teenage boys can develop into confident and compassionate young men.
Our programme provides one-to-one as well as group support, tailored specifically for teenage girls within school settings, including workshops, educational sessions, and peer support groups
We can run this programme from any school in London – we can work with you and the local authority to determine the best funding options, ensuring that schools in your borough can have this sensitive and life-saving work conducted on their premises
Girls are referred to Hopscotch’s work via the faculty or safeguarding lead
Absolutely, our programmes are inclusive and welcoming to all teenage girls, regardless of their background, identity, or circumstances – as long as they are referred to the programme by the school
The work is absolutely cost-free for boys and girls. The cost to cover the time dedicated by our professional Youth Advocate, can be covered by your local authority
We provide one-to-one and group sessions promoting positive masculinity, and fostering healthy attitudes and behaviours. It leaves boys feeling stronger in navigating the pressures and challenges of adolescence, with confidence and integrity
