At Hopscotch Women’s Centre, our Violence Against Women and Girls Advocates are here to help you. If you feel intimidated or frightened by anyone, or if you know someone who is in that situation, please reach out to us. We provide a safe and confidential space to support women (18+). Our team of experienced Advisers and Advocates is committed to offering comprehensive, trauma-informed support.

Our goal is to be there for you to make informed decisions and take control of your life.
Free Legal Advice from Family Solicitors – Navigating the legal system can be daunting, especially in times of crisis. Whether you need help with protection orders, child custody, or divorce proceedings, our Advocates are here to guide you through every step.
Welfare Benefit Check and Support – Financial independence is a critical aspect of escaping abusive situations. Our team can help you navigate the welfare system, ensuring you receive the benefits you are entitled to. We offer support with applications and understanding your rights.
Mental Health Advocacy Support – Experiencing domestic abuse can have a severe impact on your mental health. Our Mental Health Advocates provide compassionate support to help you cope with trauma, anxiety, and depression. We can connect you with counselling services, support groups, and other mental health resources.
Employment and Job Search Support – Regaining financial stability and independence is crucial. Our Employment Support Services include job search assistance, CV building, interview preparation, and access to job training programmes. We aim to help you secure stable employment and build a brighter future.

Many women are told this and it is not true – it is VERY rare for a mother to lose her children when trying to get to a safe place. Call us and we can find a safe way forward for you and your children
The most important thing is for you and your children to be safe. We will provide advice and support on the essentials you need and will help you set up so that you can start to make decisions for your future in a safe environment. Next, we will engage with all the services you need to make sure you are well looked after
You may choose to make some decisions to deal with problems in your home, so that it becomes a safe space – and we can help you with that. Whichever decision you make, we will provide help to support it. It may be that for your safety you might want to start a new life with any children you have, and we will make sure this is as easy for you as possible
After an abusive relationship, you might feel like happiness and safety will never be in your life again. We are here to help you. Once you are safe, we provide support with finances, mental health, and getting a job
